Remington Miller had two of the Coyotes' three hits against Cal State East Bay's Sean Becker, who dealt the Coyotes a 10-1 loss with a three-hitter in Saturday's opener.
CSUEB came back and earned the sweep with a 6-4 win in the second game.
The Coyotes, now 9-10 overall and 3-8 CCAA, look to snap their six-game losing streak in Sunday's series finale.

Becker struck out six, walked one and allowed one earned run in the complete-game victory.
The Coyotes stranded just four in the game and all three of their hits were singles.
David Silvas accounted for the Coyotes' other hit.
Game 2: Cal State East Bay 6, Coyotes 4
CSUSB took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Silvas connected on a one-out single to right center that scored
Trevor McMaster. And the Coyotes added their other run of the inning one batter later on
Michael Castello's sacrifice fly scored
Jake Pilkerton, who singled to right center.
But the Pioneers responded with three in the second.
CSUSB tied the game at 3-3 on
Billy Hamilton's infield ground-out that scored
Aaron Beckley.
But the Pioneers (16-6, 9-6) took the lead for good wtih two in the third and one in the fifth.
Ken Kissell returned to the mound for the Coyotes. He threw seven innings and had one strikeout with three walks.
Beckley doubled for the Coyotes.
