ROHNERT PARK – The Coyotes struck with a three-run 10th inning for a 5-2 victory over Sonoma State in the nightcap of the teams' CCAA doubleheader Saturday.
The victory snapped the Coyotes' nine game losing streak as they work for a series split against the Seawolves in Sunday's finale. First pitch is 11 a.m.
Game 1: Sonoma State 13, Coyotes 6
CSUSB got off to a hot start when it opened the game with three runs in the first inning, but the Seawolves had three multi-run innings to earn the opener.
Billy Hamilton drove in the first Coyotes' run on a ground-rule double that scored
Christian Gomez, who reached on a single.
Remington Miller followed with a single that scored
Aaron Beckley and
David Silvas' sacrifice fly to left scored
Beckley and the Coyotes were off and running with a three-run, three-hit first.
But SSU came back and scored four in the second, one in the third and four in the fourth.
SSU had 17 hits.
Gomez had four hits and Hamilton had two with two RBI for the Coyotes.

Ruben Rios gave up nine hits and eight runs 3 2/3 innings.

Ken Kissell threw six innings and scattered five hits with just one run as the Coyotes and Seawolves were pushed to extra innings in the 7-inning scheduled game.
The Coyotes grabbed the lead in the fourth on Hamilton's sacrifice fly to right that scored
Steven Chagolla, who led off with a single.
SSU came back to tie the game at 1-1 in the fourth and the game remained tied until the Coyotes scored in the ninth.
Richard Mount's sacrifice fly to left scored
Trevor McMaster, who pinch ran for Hamilton, who had a one-out single.
SSU came right back to tie the game in the ninth to set up the Coyotes' heroics in the 10
th.
Chagolla delivered a one-out single up the middle to scored
Curtis Cassise, who singled. Two batters later, Chagolla scored on a passed ball and Miller followed with a single through the left side that scored Gomez, who walked.
Matt LeVert earned the win with 1 2/3 innings of relief.
Kerry Kelley came on in the 10
th with two outs and threw a strikeout to close the game.
Miller had three hits and Chagolla had two for the Coyotes.
