Box Score SAN BERNARDINO -- It wasn't pretty, but the Coyotes will take their 3-1 victory over a scrappy Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team Friday night to improve to 15-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, 19-5 overall.

Sophomore Allie Torline buried 21 kills and junior Tori May supplied 13 kills as the Coyotes, after losing the first set 23-25, rallied late in set two to pull out a 26-24 win and then captured the final two sets 25-13 and 25-19 to avoid the upset.

The Broncos (10-15 overall, 8-9 in CCAA) made their presence felt, digging 84 balls, many of them thunder shots by the Coyotes front line to stay with the hosts. CPP posted nine total blocks to help its cause but shot just .095 for the match.

CSUSB did little better, hitting just .199 as the two teams combined for 52 attack errors in four sets. CSUSB's Brenna McIntosh, the sophomore middle blocker, the CCAA player of the week, was held to just five kills, but posted three solo blocks and five block assists as setter Stephanie Sinohui achieved 51 assists by feeding her outside hitters Torline and Danielle Newcombe a steady dose of attack opportunities.

The Coyotes countered the strong hitting of the Broncos as libero Arielle McCullough collected a match-high 30 digs. Sinohui and Ashley Solis each had 15 digs and senior Danielle Newcombe chipped in 11 digs to go with a match-high seven block assists.

Brianna Thierjung led the Broncos with 15 kills and 17 digs. Setter Katie Colin had 36 assists. Christen Williams notched six block assists. Zoe Herrera had a team-high 21 digs.

The Coyotes host Humboldt State in a CCAA contest at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
