HAYWARD -- No. 14 Cal State San Bernardino won for the 18th time in its last 19 matches with a 3-0 victory over host Cal State East Bay in CCAA volleyball Friday night.
Sophomore Ashley Solis led the Coyotes (21-5, 17-1 CCAA) with 11 kills as they throw down an impressive .327 attack percentage in the 25-19, 25-16, 25-21 victory.
Sophomore Brenna McIntosh had 10 kills with one solo block and three block assists and junior Tori May had eight kills with one solo and three block assists.
Senior Danielle Newcombe gave the Coyotes proper momentum in the first set. She served up a pair of service aces for an 18-13 lead in a set where McIntosh led with five of her kills on the evening.
CSUSB utilized a .441 attack percentage in the second. Consecutive kills from Alexandra Torline after a kill from Solis put CSUSB in the driver's seat at 6-3 and never looked back.
And after the third set was tied at 14-14, May put down a solo block and CSUSB remained out front for the duration.
Senior setter Stephanie Sinohui had 34 assists, while senior libero Arielle McCullough had 12 digs.
Newcombed led in block assists with four.
CSUSB completes the weekend with Saturday's match at Cal State Monterey Bay.
CSUEB dropped to 11-16, 7-12.
