Box Score POMONA – Cal Poly Pomona played three tight sets against the No. 16 Coyotes, but it was CSUSB which held the upper-hand in a 3-0 CCAA volleyball victory Saturday night at Kellogg Gym.
The Coyotes won 25-22, 26-24, 25-22 for the eighth straight time this fall and remain on top of the CCAA at 11-4, 7-0.
CPP dropped to 3-11, 1-5.
Sophomore OH
Alexandra Torline had 14 kills in the victory. She hit .385 on the night with only four attack errors in 26 attacks.
No other Coyote reached double-figures in kills, but middle blocker
Brenna McIntosh had eight kills, two solo blocks and five block assists.

Kaitlyn Christner each had nine kills.
CSUSB prevailed in the opening set after a total of 10 ties and two lead changes.
After the 10
th tie (at 20-20), Torline gave the Coyotes the lead for good with a kill, and added another after a block assist from both McIntosh and
Danielle Newcombe for a 23-20 lead.
The second set appeared to be going CPP's way as the Broncos led 24-22 after a Hannah Harrer kill.
CSUSB took a timeout and regrouped with Christner throwing down a kill to draw the Coyotes to within a point.
That set the Coyotes in motion, who finished off the Broncos with three successive points for a 26-24 win. May teamed up for a block assist with Christner and added a kill down the stretch.
The third set, despite ending on a three-point margin, was controlled by the Coyotes from the beginning. CSUSB never trailed and led by as many as six on two occasions.
Up 23-20, Torline's kill got the Coyotes to match point.
A service error gave the Broncos a chance and after a Coyotes' attack error, the Broncos closed to within 24-22.
But Torline caped the night with her 14
th kill and the Coyotes had their victory.
