Box Score LOS ANGELES – No. 14 Cal State San Bernardino grabbed control early, never let go and wrapped up a 3-0 win over host Cal State L.A. in CCAA volleyball Friday night.
The victory was CSUSB's 11
th straight and it improved to 14-4 overall and 10-0 in the CCAA. The Coyotes will close the first half of the conference season Saturday night against a team they haven't lost to since George Herbert Walker Bush was President.
Not since October 1992 have the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros earned a win over the Coyotes; a streak of 40 consecutive losses.

Danielle Newcombe was equally impressive with a .474 attack percentage (10-1-19) with 10 digs and four block assists.
CSUSB gave up only three lead changes (none in the opener) in the 25-21, 25-21, 25-20 victory.
CSUSB hit .300, while allowing the Golden Eagles (11-7, 6-4) to just .219 on the attack. CSULA did not help it cause with 16 attack errors and 11 service errors.
In the opener and up 16-6, the Coyotes overcame eight straight points by CSULA to cut the lead to 16-14.
But with Newcombe serving, the Coyotes regained momentum and led 24-18.
The second set was tied at 20-20 before CSUSB got a two-point lead on a service error and a block assist from McIntosh and Newcombe.
An ace from
Stephanie Sinohui stretched the Coyotes lead to 23-20 before they finished off the Golden Eagles.
Newcombe led the Coyotes with six kills in the third set and
Alexandra Torline added four.
Sinohui led CSUSB with 35 assists and dig extraordinaire
Arielle McCullough had 11 digs.
Iona Lofrano had a match-high 15 kills for CSULA.
