Box Score SAN BERNARDINO – Juan Gonzalez scored his team-leading third goal of the season, but it was not enough in a 2-1 loss to visiting Humboldt State in CCAA men's soccer Friday afternoon at Premier Field.
Trailing 2-0 through the first half, the Coyotes broke through in the 50
th minute when
David Perez delivered a hard cross. Gonzalez was on the receiving end and drove it past the Lumberjacks' GK Ryan Ades.
Zach Hammond scored his CCAA-leading 11
th goal in the 5
th minute and Connor Wilkinson added a penalty kick in the 36
th minute for HSU (6-6-1, 4-6-1).
The Coyotes' other SOG was from Andre Spencer. Gonzalez had the other top opportunity for a goal when he blistered a shot that hit the post in the 12
th minute.
CSUSB takes a 4-8-3 overall and 2-8-1 CCAA records into Sunday's game against Sonoma State. Kickoff is 11:30 a.m.
