Box Score: Coyotes 3, Cal Poly Pomona 0
POMONA -- The Coyotes set the tone early in their match Saturday night against host Cal Poly Pomona and went on to earn a 3-0 win over the Broncos in CCAA volleyball.

Mercedes Winchester continued her fine play over the last few weeks, throwing down 11 kills with four block assists in the Coyotes' 25-12, 25-23, 25-14 rout over the Broncos (6-6, 2-3 CCAA).
Freshman Alexandera Torline followed Winchester's act with 10 kills and 11 points, while fellow freshman
Brenna McIntosh had nine kills, two block assists and 12 points for the Coyotes, now 6-6, 3-1 and victorious in their season-best three-match winning streak.

Jordan Ortega had a pair of service aces and McIntosh and Winchester had three kills each in the opening set as CSUSB grabbed a quick 7-1 lead and never looked back in the 25-12 win.
Torline stepped up with a second-set best five kills as CSUSB scored the final three points of the set to come-from-behind and win.
Down 23-22, CSUSB got a block assist from McIntosh and Torline. After a CPP attack error, Torline finished off the Broncos with a set-ending kill.
In the third and final set, Winchester again was strong, this time with five kills, and the freshmen combination of McIntosh and
Ashley Solis had four each in the decisive win. CSUSB fired .333 in the final set.
The Coyotes return to Coussoulis Arena on Friday night when they take on Cal State Stanislaus.
Jessica Doerner led the Broncos with seven kills. CPP, which entered the contest leading the CCAA in blocks, had just one solo block and were held to without a block assist.
