Box Score: UC San Diego 5, No. 25 Coyotes 2
LA JOLLA -- The 25th-ranked Coyotes knew the UC San Diego Tritons would put up a fight in their Wednesday night CCAA match.
Up 2-0, CSUSB lost its momentum as the host Tritons came back to win the final three sets and earn the victory in a 25-17, 25-19, 21-25, 14-25, 12-15 set back at RIMAC Arena.
The loss snapped the Coyotes winning streak at seven as they take an 18-8 overall record and 15-3 CCAA mark into Friday night's match at home against Sonoma State. UCSD improved to 19-7, 14-4.

Alexandra Torline led the Coyotes with 15 kills and fellow freshman

Brenna McIntosh had 11 kills with 12 total blocks (nine block assists).
The Coyotes were on top of their game in the first two sets as they had just one attack error in 66 total attacks. They fired a collective .485 (33 kills, 1 error).
In the third set, the Coyotes cut UCSD's lead to 20-19 on a block assist from McIntosh and senior
Camille Smith. After a UCSD kill, McIntosh had a solo block to draw the Coyotes to within a point.
But the Tritons scored three straight points and went on for the win on a Danielle Dahle kill.
In the fourth set, block assists from Torline and McIntosh drew the Coyotes to within two points, 13-11. But down the stretch, UCSD outscored the Coyotes 12-3 and tied the match at 2-2.
The Coyotes found themselves down 12-6 in the fifth before rallying. Two solo blocks from Smith keyed a 5-0 run to get within a point.
However, kills from Sophie Rowe and Dahle put UCSD up 14-11 and Dahle earned the set and match winner with a kill.
Smith finished with four kills, 49 assists, one service ace, 17 digs, three solo blocks and seven block assists in a fine all-round match.
