Box Score: Coyotes 3, CSU Stanislaus 0
TURLOCK -- The Coyotes made quick work of Saturday night's opponent Cal State Stanislaus in a 3-0 win in CCAA volleyball.
The 25-23, 25-16, 25-12 victory was CSUSB's seven straight and 15 in its last 16 matches heading into next week's play against the other top three teams in the league. The week begins against at UC San Diego, a 3-0 loser to Chico State on Friday, and wraps up with matches against Sonoma State (Friday) and San Francisco State (Saturday) at CSUSB's Coussoulis Arena.
The key in the match against the Warriors was the play of
Alexandra Torline, who threw down two final kills in the opening set after CSUS tied the set at 23-23.
That gave the Coyotes all the momentum they needed as they never trailed in the final two sets.
Torline led the way with 11 kills and four block assists, and
Brenna McIntosh had eight kills in 11 attacks and continued her fine play on the block with three block assists.
Senior All-American
Camille Smith had another double-double with 30 assists and a match-high 16 digs. Sophomore libero
Arielle McCullough chipped in with 15 digs.
The Warriors fell to 7-18, 4-13.
