Box Score: No. 12 Sonoma State 2, Coyotes 0
ROHNERT PARK -- A pair of first-half goals put Sonoma State in the lead for good as the Coyotes to 2-0 in CCAA women's soccer Sunday afternoon.

CSUSB, now 6-4-2 overall and 4-4-1 CCAA, played without two starters: defender
Jasmine Bell and forward
Jani Carmona-Urbano, who were injured in Friday's 3-2 win over Humboldt State.

The 12th-ranked Seawolves (10-1-1, 7-1-1) earned both of their goals in the first 25 minutes of play.

CSUSB had just two shots on goal against Alexis Sciacqua, one in each half. Sophomore
Emily Mardon was the only Coyote with more than one shot attempt. CSUSB had six for the game.

"We did not play that well for the first 20 minutes but did a solid job after that,'' Coyotes coach
Travis Clarke said. “I thought that although we lost we played hard, especially in the second half.
"I thought that the players did well without two of our top players.  Sonoma is one of the top teams in the country and in our conference and they made us pay for our two mistakes. We are looking to regroup, have a competitive week of practice and hopefully work on getting healthy again before some very big road games next weekend."

The Coyotes return to play Friday afternoon at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Kickoff is 4:30 p.m.
