Coyotes suffer heartbreaking OT loss

-- Juan Montellano scored the game's only goal with 1.6 seconds remaining in double overtime as host Cal State Monterey Bay dealt the Coyotes their third straight loss in a 1-0 defeat Friday afternoon in CCAA men's soccer.

CSUSB will end its 2012 season Sunday afternoon at Cal State East Bay. The Coyotes are 4-5-7 overall and 4-5-5 in the CCAA.

The Coyotes totaled 15 shots and had five shots on goal at Otters GK Evan Drake, but could not deliver a goal.

CSUSB had two golden opportunities in the second OT, but came away empty. Freshman Ricardo Velasco missed on a penalty kick at the 105th minute and one minute later, sophomore Dylan Faggioni misfired on a shot up close.

Freshman Jeff Salt earned the start in the nets for CSUSB. He had six saves.

Velasco led the Coyotes with five shots and three SOG, while Daniel Lopez, Raul Gomez and Leo Mendoza each had two shots.
