POMONA – Coach Noah Kooiman's Coyotes earned their first victory of the season by going on the road and defeating Cal Poly Pomona 2-0 in CCAA play Friday night.
It didn't take long for the Coyotes, now 1-2 overall, 1-2 CCAA, as
Marco Martinez put his team out front with a goal just five minutes into the contest. After a throw-in, Martinez got the ball from
D.J. Vigil and sent a hard shot to the right corner of the net.
The game remained at 1-0 until late when sophomore
Lee Nishanian scored on an unassisted goal in the 69
th minute.
The game was foul plagued with the teams combining for 33 fouls.

Tanner Olinger earned the win and turned back two shots – both in the opening 45 minutes.
CSUSB will remain on the road when it plays at San Francisco State on Sunday.
CPP dropped to 3-2, 2-1.
