CHICO
-- On the road, and scoring a season-low 16 points in the first half could not have created a pleasant locker room at halftime for the Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes men's basketball team.

However, the second half was all about the Coyotes, who turned things around with a season-best 51 points in the final half and earned a 67-60 victory over Chico State in California Collegiate Athletic Association play Saturday night.

Junior Theron Laudermill led CSUSB (14-9 overall, 12-7 CCAA) with 15 points as the Coyotes remain in fourth place heading into the final week of regular-season play with three games;all at home beginning Tuesday night against defending NCAA champion Cal Poly Pomona. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.

Sophomore Kwame Alexander had 14 points on the strength of 10-of-12 free throws as CSUSB was 20 of 24 from the line in the second half. They finished 22 of 30, good for a 73.3-percent effort.

Junior Nate Roth had 13 and senior Corey Caston 11 as the Coyotes cut into Chico's lead in the second half right from the beginning.

After Chico's Rodrick Hawkins hit a 3-pointer to give his team a 23-16 lead to begin the final half, the Coyotes came right back on a 12-2 run and took the lead for good at 28-25 on Caston's second straight 3-pointer with 16:26 remaining in the game.

Damario Sims had 13 points for Chico State, 13-11, 9-11.
