CHICO – A record-setting night belonged to No. 3 Cal State San Bernardino, which earned its 22
nd straight victory with a 3-0 win over Chico State in CCAA volleyball Saturday night.
The Coyotes improved to 22-0 overall and 17-0 in the CCAA and established school records for consecutive wins and consecutive wins to begin a season with the 25-17, 25-21, 25-21 triumph.

Samantha Middleborn led the Coyotes with 10 kills, one error in 20 attacks and fellow middle blocker
Megan Johnson was her equal with a 9/1/17 night as CSUSB fired off a .347 attack percentage in the three-set win – its 17
th shutout of the season.
Outside hitter
Morgan Carty also had nine kills with nine digs on the night and senior libero
Kelcie Tolan earned a match-high 12 digs. Sophomore OH
Danielle Newcombe also had nine digs as CSUSB finished with 44 digs and won for the 33
rd straight time over the Wildcats (15-8, 10-7).
This was a one-sided match with CSUSB leading from beginning to end in the first two sets.

Camille Smith each had kills to give CSUSB a one-point lead that it never relinquished.
Chico State hit just .173 and hurt itself with 19 attack errors and seven service errors.
CSUSB returns to Coussoulis Arena on Friday night against Humboldt State.
