SAN BERNARDINO
-- The spoiler's role apparently suits the Coyotes, who delivered a 3-2 win over CCAA Tourney and NCAA hopeful Cal Poly Pomona on a warm Friday afternoon at Coyote Premier Field.

Freshman Oscar Flores scored a pair of goals and teammate Corey Hostetter scored on a penalty kick as the Coyotes came from behind and improved to 6-9-2 overall and 4-9-2 in the CCAA.

The loss was a tough one for the Broncos, who dropped to 9-6-2, 8-5-2.

The Coyotes tied their season high for goals for the third time and earned their third win when they do so. The offensive output matched the total amount of goals they had scored in their previous four games.

It didn't start out so well for the Coyotes, who were down 1-0 in just the 2nd minute of play. Broncos' All-American Luis Gonzalez broke free on a pass from Nicholas Jimenez. Coyotes' GK Tanner Olinger came out, but Gonzalez sped past him and got a free look at the net and drove in from about 20 yards for the gimme goal.

Flores, who was a late enrollee at CSUSB this fall, scored his first tally of the day on a feed from Derek Taddei. Flores' goal at 37:19 tied the game and the teams went into the break tied at 1-1.

CSUSB gained the lead for the first time in the 66th minute. Broncos' Luis Garcia was called for a foul in the box and Hostetter delivered the penalty kick.

CSUSB's lead remained until Gonzalez made his presence felt again at the 82nd minute. Teammate Abraham Gomez placed the ball perfectly to Gonzalez, who got a free look and went to Olinger's left side for the 2-2 tie.

But everything changed when Taddei and Flores connected again four minutes later. At the 86-minute mark, Taddei found Flores, who went straight at the net for the game-winner.

CPP out-shot the Coyotes 15-12, but CSUSB had eight SOG to CPP's seven.

Olinger improved his record to 6-8-2 overall.

The Coyotes complete the 2011 season Sunday on Senior Day. Brett Faggioni, Julian Garcia, Jordan Rodino and D.J. Vigil will be honored in a pregame ceremony. Kickoff is 11:30 a.m.
