SAN FRANCISCO – You can call the Coyotes' 3-0 win over San Francisco State a successful one-day business trip.
The CSUSB volleyball team caught a Saturday morning flight to the Bay Area, grabbed a pre-match meal near the SFSU campus and then took care of the host Gators 25-22, 25-13, 25-13 in CCAA play. In all, the agenda took place within about a 12-hour stretch.
CSUSB, now 18-0 overall and 13-0 in the CCAA, continued its winning ways by securing a victory over the Gators for the 24th straight time. Five players had at least three block assists as All-American

The Coyotes forced SFSU into 24 attack errors and benefited from seven service errors to win the match in 68 minutes.
For the match, CSUSB hit .322 (39-11-87), while holding the Gators (10-9, 6-8) to just .029 (27-24-102).
The first set turned toward CSUSB's way late. Tied at 17-17, a block assist from Carty and Johnson and another block assist from Middleborn and Newcombe gave the Coyotes a two-point lead and forced SFSU to take a timeout.
After the break, CSUSB remained ahead and earned the win with two Johnson kills.
In the final two sets, the match belonged to the Coyotes as they trailed just once in each set.
CSUSB had 45 digs and was led by senior libero

Johnson led CSUSB with eight kills, and three others – Newcombe, Middleborn and senior
Priscilla Collings – each had seven. Middleborn had three service aces.
