Sabrina Gonzalez scored a season-high 24 points with three assists and three steals and three others also reached double digits in scoring as visiting Cal State San Bernardino never trailed in its 75-53 win over San Diego Christian in nonconference women's play Wednesday night.
The Coyotes won their sixth straight game to open the 2010-11 season, matching their best start since the 2007-08 team also opened 6-0. That season also marked the Coyotes' last appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Leading 17-12 with 13:54 remaining, the Coyotes opened up a double-digit lead on a 13-0 run in a 4 1/2-minute stretch that included three consecutive 3-pointers. Gonzalez sandwiched two threes around Angela Street's trey and the Coyotes were never threatened in the game's final 29 minutes.
CSUSB fired a season-best 55.3 percent effort from the floor and were 17-of-20 from the free throw line.

Eisha Sheppard scored 18 points on a nearly perfect night. She was 6-of-7 from the floor and was good on all six of her free throw attempts. Street had 13 points off the bench and senior
Kym Ooten had 10 points with four rebounds.
The Coyotes are now off until Dec. 29 when they play host to CSU Monterey Bay. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. at CSUSB's Coussoulis Arena.
