Jane Chafeh threw down 20 kills on the strength of a .432 attack percentage as No. 8 CSU San Bernardino rolled to a 3-0 win over CSU Monterey Bay in California Collegiate Athletic Association play Saturday night.
The win increased the Coyotes' record to 15-2 overall and 12-1 in the CCAA, while the league's second-place Otters fell to 12-4, 9-4.
The victory was a one-sided affair as the Coyotes earned a 25-22, 25-13, 25-14 win against a team that entered the weekend just one match behind the front-running Coyotes in the league chase.
Fresh off a 3-2 win the previous night at San Francisco State, CSUSB opened with the three-point in Set 1, then overpowered the Otters to earn the sweep. The 3-0 victory was CSUSB's 11th on the season and ninth in CCAA play.
The Coyotes return home on Thursday against NAIA Cal Baptist, then take on CSU Dominguez Hills (Friday) and Cal State L.A. (Saturday). Coussoulis Arena will be a welcome sight after four-straight road matches. The Coyotes play five of their next six at home.
Senior
Nicole Moore also reached double digits in kills with 13, while
Camille Smith had 38 assists and
Kelcie Tolan had 14 digs with
Morgan Carty at 12.
The Coyotes fired .318 on the night (53/18/110) and forced the Otters into 13 attack errors on just 21 kills.
