SEASIDE -- Junior forward Obi Agwu scored the match-deciding goal in the third minute of overtime Friday as Cal State San Bernardino defeated host Cal State Monterey Bay, 3-2, in a CCAA conference men's soccer match before 125 fans on the Otters field.
     Agwu's eighth-goal of the season came off a crossing pass by senior Daniel Rodriguez, enabling the Coyotes, ranked No. 3 in the NCAA West Region poll,  to improve to 10-3 on the season, 6-3 in the CCAA heading into Sunday's match at San Francisco State.
     The Otters rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the match in the 77th minute but fell to 3-8-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the CCAA.
      Rodriguez got the Coyotes on the board just 9:59 into the match with a shot that glanced off the goalkeeper's shoulder after receiving a crossing pass from sophomore Billy Pellow. It was his fifth goal of the season.
      Junior Albert Cabrera scored his eighth goal of the season at 27:41 of the first half unassisted. Cabrera dribbled past two defenders and delivered a solid volley past the keeper.
      The Otters came back as Arron Thomas scored in the 68th minute and added his second goal of the match in the 77th minute to force the overtime at 2-2.
      The Coyotes outshot the Otters 14-5. CSUSB goalkeeper Arath De La Rocha made two saves while Otters keeper Brendan Baca had three saves. There were 44 fouls called in the match, 26 against the Otters. 
      CSUSB's offside trap was apparently working well as the Otters were whistled for offsides six times in the match.
