Set two was close again, featuring seven ties and four lead changes. After the score was tied at 16-all, Cal State L.A. pulled away to a two-point advantage at 18-16 on a service error and Cizova's kill. A kill by Chafeh brought the Coyotes to within one at 22-21 and 24-23 but a Coyote service error on set point gave it to L.A., 25-23.
The Coyotes got off to a quick start in set three, going up 16-7 on an L.A. ball handling error. However, the Golden Eagles kept chipping away until they cut the lead to one point at 22-21 on a Coyotes attack error.
CSUSB went ahead 24-21 on an attack error by Bulawczyk but CSUSB returned the favor and them Marquis Mora nailed a kill and it was 24-23, but Coyotes junior Nicole Moore drove a hard shot inside the far right corner of the court for the set winner at 25-23.
There was only one lead change in the fourth set – L.A. won the first point on a kill by Mora.
