CSUSB blanks Cal Poly Pomona, 3-0

Granados feasts on Broncos with 24 kills

    Cal State San Bernardino rode the whip-like left arm of right side hitter Jessica Granados to a 3-0 California Collegiate Athletic Association wome's volleyball win over Cal Poly Pomona, improving the Coyotes to 6-0 in the conference and 14-1 overall.
    Granados notched 24 kills on .525 hitting while teammate Sharea Drawn had 14 kills on .542 hitting to pace CSUSB, ranked No. 2 in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Assn.
    The Coyotes prevailed 30-24, 30-23 and 30-23 in a match that was tied 18 different times but with only seven lead changes. The Broncos had a six-point lead in the middle of game three but the Coyotes rallied to take a 21-20 lead and never trailed again.
    Sophomore Ashtin Hall played in only two of the games but registered 10 kills and eight digs. Setter Sara Hoffman had 55 assists and nine didgs while libero Meghan Haas had 16 digs. Senior OH Lindsey Olhausen contributed 10 digs.
    CSUSB had 63 kills in the match to just 37 for the Broncos and hit .297 as a team compared to Cal Poly's .195.
