Cal State San Bernardino completed a 4-0 run through the 2007 Coyote Classic Women's Volleyball Tournament with a 3-0 sweep of Southwest Minnesota State, ranked No. 25 in the nation in a pre-season poll.
The Coyotes, ranked No. 3 in the same poll, prevailed 30-27, 30-25 and 30-27 over the Mustangs and did not lose a single game in four tournament outings, extending their home record in Coussoulis Arena to 72-6 since the start of the 2001 season.
Senior middle blocker
Sharea Drawn contributed 12 kills in 20 attacks (.600 hitting) with two solo blocks and was named to the all-tournament team along with Erin Contons of SMSU; Alyssa Given of Seattle Pacific, Leah Asburn of SMSU, Nicole Schwab of Fort Lewis and Sylvia Schmidt of UC San Diego.
Junior right side hitter
Jessica Granados led the Coyotes in the win over SMSU, putting down 15 kills while sophomore outside hitter
Ashtin Hall had 11 kills and eight digs, including a monster dig off a lazer beam attack by Contons, a 2006 all-American to give CSUSB a 29-27 lead late in game three.
Junior libero
Meghan Haas had 18 digs in the match. Contons had a double-double for the Mustangs with 16 kills and 12 digs. Sara Graf had 47 assists for the visitors, who finished the tournament 3-1.
CSUSB hit .350 for the match while the Mustangs hit .254.
