Junior forward Daniel Rodriguez scored the second hat trick of his collegiate career Friday as Cal State San Bernardino defeated Cal State San Marcos, 3-1, in a non-conference men's soccer match at Coyote Premier Field.
    Rodriguez put the Coyotes on the board just 4:30 into the match with a rebound of a shot by freshman Obi Agwu. In the 56th minute, Lorenzo Loson was fouled in the penalty area and Rodriguez converted a penalty kick, his third in two matches, for a 2-0 lead.
    He made it 3-0 in the 65th minute with a one-timed blast inside the box from a crossing pass off Loson's foot.l
    Danni Vasquez scored for the Cougars in the 83rd minute during a scramble for the ball in front of the Coyotes net.
    CSUSB is now 5-10-2 overall while the Cougars slipped to 6-9. Lucas Pepi had three saves in goal for CSUSB.
