Christie Joines joined Cal State San Bernardino from CCAA rival Cal Poly Pomona in September 2025. She serves as the senior associate athletic director and senior woman administrator for the Coyotes.
Joines spent four years at Cal Poly Pomona, overseeing the compliance office. She acted as the liaison between the department and NCAA/CCAA with all compliance concerns. Joines oversaw the National Letter of Intent program, as well as all aspects of student services including admissions, eligibility, housing, and financial aid. She also served as sport supervisor for both the Broncos women’s volleyball and baseball teams.Â

Before Pomona, Joines spent 21 years at the University of La Verne, serving as both the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Eligibility and the Executive Assistant for the Director of Athletics.

As the Compliance and Eligibility Director at La Verne, her duties included monitoring the activities of 20 sports' programs, including 560+ La Verne student-athletes, coaches, athletics department staff members, and boosters in regards to NCAA, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), and institutional rules. Joines worked with student-athletes to ensure they were eligible for competition once enrolled at La Verne, monitoring academic and athletic compliance through Front Rush and Compliance Assistant Internet (CAi). She also served as a committee member of the SCIAC Compliance Administrators.

Joines earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at La Verne in Liberal Studies (2005) and Master’s in Education, Special Emphasis (2008), respectively.

Joines is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports, D2ADA and NAAC. Joines attends the NCAA Regional Rules seminar bi-annually, NAAC Convention and NCAA National Convention annually.

In her free time, Joines enjoys spending time with her family, camping, off-roading, and going to the river.
