     Michelle Alvarez returns to the Cal State San Bernardino Volleyball program after a one-year hiatus in which she played her sophomore season at Orange Coast College.
    Alvarez appeared in 15 of 29 matches for the Coyotes in 2006 as a freshman, playing in a total of 20 sets as a reserve. She sat out the 2007 season as a redshirt before transferring to OCC.
    HIGH SCHOOL: She is a 2006 graduate of Yucaipa High School where she played three years of volleyball, earning the "best defender" award in 2006. She also played three years of basketball.
    PERSONAL: Alvarez is a liberal studies major who wants to teach at the first grade level and coach at the high school level. She is "very involved" with her church outside of school and volleyball commitments. Her parents are Lupe and Mario Alvarez.
    MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT: Defeating Yucaipa's rival team on their home court in her senior year.
    WHAT I WANT TO BE DOING IN 5 YEARS: Whatever God wants me to be.
    ATHLETIC IDOL: Misty May and Meghan Haas.
