Biography
2007: Malagon competed in six of the team's seven events. Her best 5K time was 20:47 at the UC Riverside meet. Her best 6K time was 24:36 at the CCAA conference championship. Her highest finish was 31st at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego.
2006: She ran in all seven events in her first year with the team. Her best finish was 49th in the CCAA championship meet. Her best 5K time was 20:02 and her top 6K time was 24:22 at the NCAA West Regional.
HIGH SCHOOL: Malagon ran cross country and track at Yucaipa High School, graduating in 2004. She was captain for two of her four years on the cross country team and captain for one year on the track team.
PERSONAL: She is a liberal studies major who plans to get her degree and teaching credential by the fall of 2009 and start the master's program in education or counseling. Away from running, Malagon enjoys going to the beach, shopping and working out. Her parents are Tom and Irma Malagon.
