Southern California native Tulyah Gaines is in her first season as assistant coach for the Coyotes in 2015-16, after previous coaching responsibilities at the high school and college level.
In 2014-15, she worked as an assistant coach at Andre Agassi Prep in Las Vegas, Nev., and spent the four previous seasons as an assistant at Cheyenne HS in Las Vegas. She also served as a personal trainer for amateur and professional athletes including Sequoia Holmes of the Phoenix Mercury.
Upon graduation from the University of Notre Dame, she served one season as Director of Basketball Operations at Penn State University. Her responsibilities included travel, alumni relations, community outreach, academic advising, social media. In 2009-10, she was assistant coach at San Bernardino Valley College, where she worked with current CSUSB head coach Sue Crebbin. Her duties included defensive strategies, and off the court, she assisted with academic progress.

A four-year letter winner at Notre Dame, Gaines played guard for the Irish from 2004-08 and helped lead her teams to the NCAA Tournament in each of her four seasons. She finished her career with 754 points, 335 assists and 174 steals. Gaines is in the Top 10 in Notre Dame history in assists. She was a three-time Big East Academic All-Star with the Irish.

Gaines, a Fontana native, received her bachelor's degree in Film, Television and theatre and computer applications from Notre Dame in 2008.Â
