Briana Martinez

Bri Martinez enters her second season as an assistant coach after coming to CSUSB in 2019. Her coaching focus is with the development of the Yotes’ wing players. She is also the programs recruiting coordinator while also overseeing academics and camps. 

In her first year leading the wings, Bri’s group ranked second and third on the team in scoring (Ashlynn Sharp, 11.5ppg and Tehya Burroughs, 10.6ppg). The group combined to average half of the teams scoring (32.6). 

Prior to joining CSUSB, Bri spent one year as the head coach for the girls high school basketball program at Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, CA. During this time she returned to her club organization, Elite Basketball Organization (EBO), to assist in coaching elite athletes during the summer recruiting circuit. 

From 2016-2018, Martinez was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Redlands where she was in charge of player development, recruitment, and all team operations. During her time, the Bulldogs finished both years 4th in the SCIAC conference and made appearances to the SCIAC conference tournament. Bri graduated from the University of Redlands with a Master of Arts in Higher Education

Bri’s collegiate coaching career began upon graduation from San Diego Christian College in her hometown of San Diego, CA. She returned to her alma mater for one season after graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biological Studies. Bri also played at Grand Canyon University.
