2009: Fernandez appeared in 49 games, starting seven times as a freshman. Uses primarily as a pinch runner/designated player, Fernandez had five steals in six attempts and scored 15 runs.
 HIGH SCHOOL: Fernandez played four years of softball for the Steelers of Fontana HS, earning all-Citrus Belt League honors in 2008 and made the varsity her freshman year. She also played JV volleyball one season and was a varsity cheerleader.
    
PERSONAL: She is an accounting major with a career as an accountant in mind, a job that will enable her to travel. Fernandez enjoys concerts, going to the beach and being with friends. She volunteered at Special Olympics. Her parents are Joseph and Maura Fernandez. She has one sibling.
