At Western Christian HS: Four-year letter winner in baseball and two-time letter winner in basketball... As a senior, named 1st-team all-conference and hit .598... Team's Hitter of the Year, Silver Slugger and Honorable Mention All-CIF... Earned 1st-team all-league as a junior and hit .500... Earned 2nd-team all-conference as a junior.

Personal: Son of Rafael and Irma Chavira... Political science major... Would like to attend law school... Enjoys family time, basketball, ping pong and beach volleyball.... Pitched a no-hitter, hit for the cycle and stole home, third and second by reaching on a walk as a senior.
