BEFORE CAL STATE: Peterson earned all-Western State Conference while playing two years at College of Canyons after spending his freshman year at San Jose State.
    
HIGH SCHOOL: He played four years of baseball and four years of football at Canyon High School, graduating in 2004. He was first-team all-Foothill League in both sports and team MVP in baseball.
    
PERSONAL: Peterson is a kinesiology major with career goals of being a head coach at the college and professional level and eventually become a scout. He has donated his time to United Way. He enjoys playing poker. His parents are Melinda and Don Peterson. He has one sibling.
    
MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT: Sweeping Rice University my freshman year to open conference play.
    
WHY I CHOSE CSUSB: Because of the immense opportunities in athletics and academics.
