Joe Villa begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Coyotes’ baseball program, serving as third-base coach, working with infielders and offense.
Villa played at Cal Poly Pomona from 2006-10, and then served as head coach at Sunny Hills HS in Fullerton (2011-12), while studying full time at CPP. His 2012 Lancers’ team reached the CIF postseason for the first time in 12 seasons.
He returned to CPP in 2013 and worked two seasons for head coach Randy Betten.
In 2015, he was a head coach in the Orange County Collegiate summer league and worked travel ball with the Orange County-based Garciaparra Baseball Group.
Joe and his wife Kate reside in Placentia.
