Biography
2008-09: Urzua was an impact player for the Coyotes, leading the team in scoring at 14.0 points per game and No. 2 in rebounding at 5.3 per game. She was No. 3 on the team with 59 assists and led the team in steals with 47. She earned second-team All-CCAA honors. Urzua tied the single-game record for three-pointers made (6) and set new season records for 3-pointers made (58) and atempts (166). She also set career records with 137 made 3-pointers and 422 career attempts. She ranked No. 8 in the CCAA in scoring, No. 9 in steals, No. 17 in rebounding and led the CCAA in 3-pointers made per game (2.1). She scored a season high 29 points Vs. Grand Canyon and scored 26 in a CCAA tournament quarterfinal victory over UC San Diego. She had at least 10 rebounds in a game three times and scored 20 points or more seven times.
2007-08: Urzua continued to elevate her game, averaging 8.3 points a game, 4.3 rebounds a game with 47 assists, 27 steals and two blocked shots. She hit 40 three-pointers during the season while playing in all 29 games. She scored in double figures 11 times with a career high 29 points against UC San Diego. She had a career-high nine rebounds against Seattle Pacific.
2006-07: As a freshman, Urzua was the team’s second leading scorer at 7.4 points a game. She also averaged 2.8 rebounds per game with 39 assists and 27 steals coming off the bench in 26 of the team’s 28 games. She was the team co-leader in 3-pointers with 39 and was the team’s leading free throw shooter at 81 percent. She was a CCAA player of the week. She had a season-high 22 points against San Diego Christian and four times had a season-high six rebounds in a game. She posted a season-high five assists against Cal State Stanislaus.
HIGH SCHOOL: Urzua played four years of basketball at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe Springs, graduating in 2006. She also competed in track for three seasons.
PERSONAL: She is a psychology major with plans to work on her master's degree in sports psychology and become a personal trainer. She'd also like to coach at the high school level. She has volunteered her time with the DisAbilities Sports Festival at CSUSB and volunteered at local middle schools. Away from the court she enjoys working out and going to the beach. Her mother is Irma Adame. She has three siblings.
MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT: Scoring 40 points in one game in high school and beating CCAA champion UC San Diego twice on their home court (in 2008-09).
