Biography
2008-09: Groves played in 26 games, starting nine times. She averaged 2.7 points a game, 2.1 rebounds per game with 25 assists. She had a season-high 10 points against Chico State and a season high five assists against the Wildcats in the same game.
BEFORE CAL STATE: Groves attended Southern University for one year and was a first-team, all-conference and all-SoCal at El Camino College.
HIGH SCHOOL: She played four seasons of basketball at Narbonne High School in Harbor City, earning first-team all-Marine League honors and second-team all-city.
PERSONAL: Groves is a excercise science major with an emphasis on physical therapy. Her career goal is to be a sports physician (physical therapist) and work with rehabilitating athletes in in a college setting or with a professional team. She ultimately would like to own a sports clinic or work with the elderly in gerontology.
She has been active in her church youth group and tutoring and mentoring underprivileged children (Young Black Scholars) and YAFC Youth Group. Groves enjoys watching movies, spending time with family, bowling, working out, reading, playing chess, dominoes and cards and watching college football. Her parents are Mark and Jennifer Quarterman. She has three siblings.
