Biography
2008-09: Tyson was the team's third leading scorer at 9.1 points a game and ranked No. 4 in assists with 71. He averaged 2.9 rebounds a game, third best on the team, and shot 38 percent from the three (45 of 118) while making 80 percent of his free throws.He scored in double figures 11 times with a season-high 20 against Seattle Pacific and dished off six assists on two occasions.
BEFORE CAL STATE: Tyson played basketball at Cal State Northridge and Northeastern Junior College in Colorado. He played in 16 games at Northridge and played on a Northeastern team that went 30-4 in 2007-08.
HIGH SCHOOL: He is a 2005 graduate of Quartz Hill High School in Lancaster where he played four years of basketball and two years of track. He was a team MVP three times and earned all-league first-team honors in basketball.
PERSONAL: Tyson is a marketing working toward his degree. He enjoys dominoes, riding bikes and playing pool. He has helped at youth basketball camps. His parents are Larry and Lula Tyson. He has one sibling.
MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT: Scoring a career-high 45 points in high school.
