   2008: Tapia appeared in 28 games for the Coyotes, starting 18 times in right field. He batted .233 with five doubles and four runs batted in. He handled 35 chances in the outfield without an error.
     BEFORE CAL STATE: Tapia played two years of baseball at Pierce College, earning first-team all-conference honors.
    HIGH SCHOOL: He is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks where he played four years of baseball, earning MVP honors as a player and pitcher.
    PERSONAL: Tapia is a mass communications major. Away from the diamond he enjoys surfing the web. His parents are Martha and Louie Tapia. He has two siblings.
