Biography

    2007: Camarena appeared in 46 games for the Coyotes, starting in 40 of them, primarily as a designated hitter. She batted .216 in 111 plate appearances with 24 hits and 17 runs scored. She had seven home runs and 16 RBI. 
    2006: She sat out the season as a redshirt.
    BEFORE CAL STATE: Camarena played two seasons at Victor Valley College where she was team captain and recipient of the "Heart" award.
    HIGH SCHOOL: She played four years of softball at Silverado High School in Victorville, graduating in 2003. She was the team's defensive MVP her senior year.
    PERSONAL: A liberal studies major, Camarena would like to teach kindergarten and eventually earn her master's degree and a Ph.D. and teach or coach at the collegiate level. She volunteers her time as a coach with travel ball teams and as a tutor for elementary school reading programs. She has also umpired Little League games. Away from the field, Camarena enjoys mixed martial arts, paintball, dirt bike riding, rock climbing and extreme sports.  Her parents are Joe and Sally Camarena.
