SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino men's basketball team opens the NCAA Tournament on Friday where the fifth-seeded Coyotes will take on the fourth-seed Biola.
Recent Meetings
CSUSB and Biola faced off once this season, with the Coyotes prevailing 68-63 at Biola way back on November 14. Andrew Henderson (Chatsworth, Calif.) scored 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and recorded three steals. Nic Welp (Seattle, Wash.) was just shy of a double-double, contributing 10 points and nine rebounds.
Players to Watch
The Coyotes will be led by First Team All-CCAA selections Andrew Henderson and Evan Oliver (San Bernardino, Calif.). Henderson ranks fifth in the CCAA in scoring with 16.9 points per game and eighth in the CCAA in rebounds per game at 6.8, while Oliver leads the conference in both assists and steals per game at 5.7 and 2.4, respectively.
Welp. who earned Honorable Mention All-CCAA honors, will play another key role for the Yotes as he averages 9.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Biola will be led by First Team All-PacWest selections Casey Cappo, who averages a team-high 15.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, and Daniel Esparza, who averages 14.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Second Team All-PacWest selection and Newcomer of the Year Davian Brown, who averages 15.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, will also be a key contributor.

Friday's West Region Quarterfinal between the Coyotes and Eagles will take place at Point Loma Nazarene University's Golden Gymnasium, located at 3900 Lomaland Drive in San Diego, Calif. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
