IRVINE, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino men's basketball team fell 75-66 against the Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles Saturday evening at the CU Arena.
With the defeat, the Coyotes fall to 2-4 on the season.
A layup and and-one by redshirt senior Walter Hamilton (Lake Center, Miss.) would give the Yotes a 9-6 lead early in the contest before CUI took charge. Later, CSUSB would cut the Golden Eagles' lead to two after a layup from sophomore Aidan Fowler (San Clemente, Calif.). At the end of the half however, CUI went on a 14-2 run to take a 42-28 lead going into the break.
CSUSB would respond in the second half, cutting the Golden Eagles' lead to five after a layup by redshirt senior Gavin Davis (Carson, Calif.) who led all Yotes with 15 points. CUI would take charge the rest of the way, pulling it out for a 75-66 victory.
Davis was one of three Coyotes in double figures in the defeat. Fowler added 13 of his own, while freshman
Xavier Clinton (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) posted a career-high 10.
Up next, CSUSB faces Azusa Pacific on the road next Saturday, November 29. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
