EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Â The CSUSB men's basketball team is headed to the Elite Eight for the first time in 16 years, and the fourth time in program history! With three more wins, they will become just the second team in CSUSB Athletics history to win a national championship.
Â
Following their win in the West Regional Championship at Point Loma on Monday, the NCAA committee reseeded the remaining eight teams to determine the schedule for the national tournament. The Yotes were seeded #4, pinning them against the #5 seed Lincoln Memorial. LMU offers a very similar resume to CSUSB, holding a 30-4 record on the season while going a perfect 16-0 at home. The Yotes, on the other hand, are 30-3 with an 11-0 record at home. CSUSB also averages 88.5 points per game, while the Railsplitters average 88.0. So, if the stats are any indication, it should be a close game on Tuesday.
Â
The Yotes are a combined 0-0 all-time against the other seven schools in the Elite Eight, meaning every matchup in Evansville will be the first between the two schools.
