SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The CSUSB men's basketball team defeated Cal Poly Humboldt on Saturday afternoon, winning their third straight game to improve to 14-2 on the season. Entering the weekend, the No. 15 Yotes ranked first in the CCAA with a 7-1 conference record, while Sonoma State and Cal Poly Humboldt were tied in second place at 7-3. The Yotes defended first place with ease, defeating the Seawolves on Thursday by nine points and the Lumberjacks on Saturday by 25. Both first-place hopefuls would go winless on the weekend, allowing Cal State San Marcos to sneak into second place with a 9-3 conference record.

In CSUSB's fifth 100-point win of the season, five different Yotes scored in double-digits:
Dontrell Shuler (22),
Brandon Knapper (18),
Darius Mickens (14),
Mahmoud Fofana (14), and
Eddie Davis (11). These are also the same five that lead CSUSB in scoring on the season, with Knapper sitting atop the list at 334 points while averaging 20.9 per game.

Mickens and Davis came up big on the glass, gathering 13 and 14 rebounds respectively to give each player a double-double in the game. Mickens also led the team with eight assists, falling just two shy of a triple-double. Davis, on the other hand, led the team with six steals.

CSUSB defeated Humboldt in every facet of the game, recording more rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks, while also shooting better from the field and three-point range. The Yotes outrebounded the Jacks 48-38, falling in line with their nation-leading 45.8 rebounds per game and nation-leading +15.5 rebounding margin.
