Box Score LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Yotes took a 10-point lead going into the half. CSUSB would keep that lead during the second half and win the game, 95-84.
The Yotes shot an amazing 50.8 field goal percentage, connecting on 32 of 63 shots taken on the game. CSUSB also hit 12 three pointers shooting at 37.5 percentage from beyond the arch. The Yotes grabbed 40 rebounds against the Golden Eagles 26 rebounds.
CSUSB's defense forced Cal State LA to commit 16 turnovers leading to 10 fast break points. The Yotes emphasis on teamwork was apparent once again as they collected 20 assists and 42 bench points on the game. CSUSB grabbed the victory, 95-84.
"It was really good to get back to playing fast offensively and watching these guys really get the ball moving" said coach
Andy Newman. "Our offense had a lot of pop tonight and it was really fun to watch. Cal State LA had their offense humming too, so it was a really good game to be a part of. Kaijae had an incredible performance and hopefully he continues to play like we know he can. I am really happy for him!"
Leading all players in scoring was
Kaijae Yee-Stephens who collected a career high 32 points and had five rebounds.
Darius Mickens added 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
Darius Lubom collected 12 points, five assists, and four rebounds.
Daytone Jennings tallied 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
