SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB men's basketball team defeated Cal State East Bay on Friday night, improving to 7-1 on the season and 2-0 in CCAA play. The No. 8 Yotes are tied with Cal Poly Pomona for first in the conference - each undefeated in conference play while holding an overall win percentage over .850.

Brandon Knapper and
Darius Mickens each earned double-doubles in the win over the Pioneers. Knapper collected 16 points and 10 assists while Mickens led the team in scoring with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Three other Yotes also scored double-digits on Friday night, that being
Dontrell Shuler with 17,
Eddie Davis with 11, and newcomer
Elijah Hardy with 12 in his first game wearing the blue and black. Hardy, a recent addition from Cal State Northridge, was lethal from deep, shooting 4-for-6 beyond the arc.

The nationally ranked Yotes dominated every aspect of the game against Cal State East Bay, going on a 27-6 run to open the game and never once trailing from there on. At the end of the first half, the Yotes led 53-28. They carried their momentum into the second half, extending their 25-point lead to 44 by the end of the game. They closed out the win at a final score of 102-58, marking the second time this season they have eclipsed the 100-point mark.

The Yotes also shot 56 percent from the floor – their second best field goal percentage of the season - and 41 percent from three-point range.
