LEXINGTON, Kentucky –
Lydia Morohunfola has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-West Region Team. The all-region teams were announced
here.
Morohunfola, a redshirt senior out of Eastvale, CA, was also the lone Yote to be named to the D2CCA All-West Region Team last week.
The middle-blocker finished the 2022 season with a .413 hitting percentage, which ranks first in the CCAA and third in the nation. Morohunfola also gathered 223 kills while leading the Yotes with 108.0 blocks on defense.
This season was the most productive of Morohunfola's career, which is an impressive feat considering she was a key member of the 2019 undefeated national-title squad. In her career as a Yote, Morohunfola played in a total of 104 matches, 330 sets, collecting 589 kills, 1.78 kills per set, a career .358 hitting percentage on nearly 1,200 total attacks, 68 digs, 306.0 total blocks, and 778.5 total points.
