The No. 19 Yotes opened CCAA play in Coussoulis Arena against the No. 11 Cal Poly Pomona Broncos. In the second half, CSUSB took the lead and never looked back as they downed the Broncos, 83-62.
During the duration of the game the score tied eight times and they exchanged leads for a total of 10 times. Going into halftime, the Broncos lead 38-34. In the second half the Yotes went on an eight-point score streak, taking the lead by eight. This would be the last time the lead would change as CSUSB only increased their lead for the remainder of the game. The Yotes downed another big opponent, 83-62.
The Yotes closed the game with a 47.5 shooting percentage. CSUSB went nine for 22 from the three-point line. The Yotes would take advantage of the Broncos errors, scoring 22 points off of turnovers. CSUSB would go to work crashing the boards, scoring 13 second chance points.
Leading in points for the Yotes was
Brandon Knapper as he nabbed 23 points, three assists, and two rebounds.
Eddie Davis collected a double-double, scoring 21 points and had 12 rebounds. Leading in assists for CSUSB was
Darius Lubom who found his teammates for eight assists and tallied 15 points.
Daytone Jennings scored 11 points and had eight rebounds.
