SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Yotes hosted their Pink Match and Faculty Appreciation against Cal State Dominguez Hills. This match kickstarted the day of competition for CSUSB as the Yotes downed the Toros, 2-1.
In the first half the Yotes held CSU Dominguez Hills to six shots but were only able to take three shots themselves. In the 13
th minute the Toros fouled CSUSB inside the box which led to a penalty kick.
Vidalia Abarca was selected to take the shot and put the Yotes first point onto the scoreboard. Going into the half, the Yotes led, 1-0.
CSU Dominguez Hills put the pressure on CSUSB in the second half as they took eight shots.
Carly Luna never took her eye off the ball as she finished the match with seven saves. In the 59
th minute Arbaca hit another goal when she was found by her teammate
Rebekka Bogan taking the score to 2-0. The match would not be over quite yet. In the 86
th minute CSU Dominguez Hills hit a shot off a penalty kick.
With four minutes left in the match the Yotes would keep the lead with a score of 2-1. It would not be enough time for the Toros, as CSUSB defense in

Katherine Walker,
Alaina O'Connell,
Rebekka Bogan, and
Rebeca Cruz kept CSU Dominguez Hills out of the net. Yotes sealed their second win in a row, 2-1.
