SAN BERNARDINO – The CSUSB Coyotes split with visiting UC San Diego on Monday afternoon, 5-4 and 3-4.
 
In game one the Yotes plated four in the fourth to surge ahead.  
Samantha Vacko had put them on the board with a solo homer in the first.  In the fourth 
Diana Gomez singled to score one and 
Arianna Parham did the same.  Two more runs came in to score on a passed ball and error.  
Madison Veldman homered for CSUSB and 
Kendra O'Cull held UCSD to four runs on eight hits with six K's. 
 
In the nightcap, the Yotes led 3-2 after four innings, but UCSD got two in the fifth to set them up for the win.  
Diana Gomez hit a solo shot in the second and Vacko smacked her second of the day in the third.  
Kaylee Williamson singled up the middle in the third to bring another home.
 
Taylor De'Tinne was solid allowing just two earned runs and O'Cull pitched a shutout final two innings.  Williamson led the Yotes (12-11, 10-8 CCAA) with two hits.  CSUSB and UCSD (21-8, 12-8 CCAA) will try to finish the series tomorrow with the first pitch at 12 pm.  Live links are on CSUSBathletics.com.
