LAS VEGAS – The Yotes opened the first two days at the Desert Stinger in Las Vegas with a 1-3 record and some tough but close losses.
In game one the Yotes scored two runs in the first and added four more in the fourth to edge Academy of Art.
Haley Finn singled to plate two in the first and
Jamiana Gateb took advantage of AAU mistakes with a two-RBI double to cap the fourth inning.
Kendra O'Cull and
Taylor De'Tinne, who earned the win, combined on the mound to hold Academy of Art to three runs on five hits. The Yotes spread five hits amongst themselves.
Against Colorado Christian the Yotes led 5-3 into the seventh but three runs by CCU gave them the 5-6 win.
Haley Finn was three-for-three with two doubles.
Against Central Washington the Yotes led 4-2 after four innings but CWU came back to win 5-4.
Jamiana Gateb led with two hits.
Saturday's finale against Northwest Nazarene the Yotes outhit NNU 9-5, but fell 6-2. Finn,
Madison Veldman, and
Samantha Vacko each had two hits.
