SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes took the series win over San Francisco State on Sunday with an 11-8 win at Fiscalini Field.

The Gators led 3-0 early, but Kyle Csakan doubled in the sixth to make it 2-3 and Gabe Chavez, who went four-for-five, doubled in the next inning as CSUSB led 4-3.  Richard Castro followed with a double to make it 6-3.  Each team scored in the eighth, and David Osuna, Csakan, and Shawn Porthand all singled to plate three in the ninth.

Chavez led the charge for the Yotes who had 15 hits, as AJ Barraza, Porthan, and Csakan had two hits, as Castro had three.  Tyler Williams started and went seven innings allowing just three runs.

"It was a great series win for us," CSUSB head coach Mike Nadeau said.  "Gabe Chavez was unstoppable and AJ Barraza set the tone in the leadoff spot.  When you score 29 runs and have 48 hits in a series you have a good chance to win games.  We have had great starting pitching that has kept us in every game.  It was fun to watch the guys play this weekend and we need to keep the momentum into next weekend."
